What We Do
Founded in 2021 by a community of friends, our goal is to impact the community we are in through authentically loving those around us to connect them to others.
Our Mission
To be rooted in the life of Jesus, discovering who we are, and growing in an Ever-Living Community.
Core Values
Connectedness - cherishing and investing in the most important relationships
Love – giving yourself to another for the sake of the other
Authenticity - being fully yourself and fully alive
Our Why
Did you know that over 2/3 of college age students leave the church at the most pivotal time of their lives? 18-28 years old can be your most formative years as you are on your own for the first time, making huge life decisions about who you are, what you are passionate about, what you believe, and what you are going to do with your life. This is where SEMPERVIRENS comes in.
Sempervirens is the Latin term for Coastal Redwood trees and means “ever-living”. Redwoods are the tallest trees in the world with shallow, interconnected roots that grow together. These behemoths continue in an ever-living state supporting one another and creating new life as old trees die off. We decided to start Sempervirens because we want to create a group of people rooted in Christ, discovering who we are, and growing in an ever-living community.
So, currently we’re approaching this gap in unchurched students by offering Roots Bible Study weekly, as well as hosting two residents in our pioneer fellowship this year. Moving forward, we hope to host four residents for our next year and get on campuses of universities to engage more students.
Fall 2021 Intern Retreat - We believe that the whole family serving together is important for ministry as well as for the residents. We want them to experience what a family model should be and grow in wisdom from that place.
